As the second largest city in Croatia, Split airport is among the busiest in the country, especially during the summer. Split is connected with more than 55 destinations in the world and this number increases to 80 during the main season. Mostly, passengers are flying from Germany and Great Britain, but lately, Split is more and more popular for passengers from Scandinavian countries.

Split airport is situated 24 km outside the centre, in the city of Kastela. Trogir is 6 km from the airport.

How to get to and from the airport

First of all, the airport has its own buses which take passengers from and to the airport. The buses await in front of the airport terminal and leave 30 minutes upon the arrival of any scheduled flight and take you to the centre of Split. The price for a one way bus ticket is 30 kn. You can see the schedule here.

If you are going to the airport, the airport bus leaves from the main bus station in Split 90 minutes prior to any scheduled flight. You can see the schedule here

There is also a public bus, number 37, which actually connects Split and Trogir but passes by the airport. The bus leaves from the bus station Sukoišan in Split which is 1 km from the centre; it leaves every 20 or 30 minutes, depending on the day and the time of the day. A one way ticket from Split to the airport costs 20 kn. One downside is that in the summer, the bus can get really crowded. Here you can check departures from Split and here from Trogir.

In Split you can find several taxi stands if you want to take a taxi to the airport. You can find them next to the main bus station, at the waterfront next to Harbour Office, close to the Croatian National Theatre...
