Parking in Split Croatia

During your stay in Split you can choose between one of three ways to park your car. The first way is to choose between one of the pay parking places, second one is one of pay garages and the third way is to leave your car on the street on the marked parking spots.

Our suggestion is never leave the car in the street if there is no marked parking space because Split has diligent parking enforcement officers who are just waiting to ticket and tow vehicles which don’t fill parking meters, park in tow away zones, or illegally use designated parking spots. So watch out and obey the signs to avoid inconveniences.

If your car is parked in a designated parking spot, only a police officer, an authorized service or parking warden has the power to authorize towing. For the town itself, under the Transport Services Licensing Acts, a tow truck driver or operator has authorization to remove your car.

If your car is removed you can get it back at the cost of the towing fee plus the infringement fee which you have to pay immediately when picking up your vehicle.

If your car is parked on private property, the property owner can call the authorized service or parking warden to remove your vehicle. In that case, the pick up procedure is the same as previously described.
