City Split is the main administrative center in Dalmatia with almost 200.000 inhabitants. Before it used to be the only transport center, as the main harbor is in the city, so tourists only used to pass by the town on their way to the final destination, mainly islands. The last couple of years the situation has changed, so we can say Split is recognized by tourists as a city with rich history, great nightlife, place for perfect shopping, etc.

In the Split area there are 2 big shopping centres which are worth mentioning and they are located mainly outside of the city center.

JOKER center: Joker centre is a luxury building area of 50 000 m2 with lots of shops and a variety of entertainment for its visitors. In this shopping center you can also find a restaurant, lots of coffee bars and McDonalds. At the beginning of 2013 Mccafe also opened. Before McDonalds also used to be in the historical centre of Split, but few years ago it closed, so the restaurant which can be found in Split is this one with City center Joker.

In Joker center you can find different brand stores like Benetton, Playlife, Nike, Mustang, Hilfiger shop, Orsay, Tom Tailor... There is also a big supermarket inside, pharmacy, optical store, toy store, DM and Muller with different cosmetic products. Inside the center there is Broadway cinema with a total of 850 seats. In the center there is a garage and an open parking area which is free of charge.

City Center One: is the newest shopping center in Split, opened at the end of 2010. City Center One on 57.000 m2 has 110 stores, bars, restaurants and service points, situated on three floors connected by elevators and escalators. There is a big garage with 2.700 parking spaces for visitors and it is free of charge. The centre is located in the eastern part of Split in Brnik area, along the new part of Vukovarska street and it can easily be found.
Also only a few kilometers from Split, in Solin, there is Mercator center and in Kaštela (7 km away) there is Emezzeta. More information about shopping in Split you can find here.
