If you are planning to visit both Dubrovnik and Split during your holiday in Croatia, you might find this guide to traveling from Dubrovnik to Split useful. The guide of course also applies if you travel in the opposite direction.

By Car: The travel distance from Dubrovnik to Split is estimated to 3 hours and 5 minutes following the fastest route which goes via coastal road to Ploce and then from there via country road and highway to Split. This route has a travel distance of 228 km. The shortest route between Dubrovnik and Split has a travel distance of 214 km. This route, which follows the coastal road has an estimated travel time of 3 hours and 20 minutes. In both cases, travel time by car can vary depending on traffic volume and the time spent at the border crossing in Neum.

By Bus: Dubrovnik and Split are well connected by bus and the bus is not expensive. Travel time by bus is between 4 and 5 hours, depending on travel route and number of stops. You can see bus timetable between Dubrovnik and Split here

By Plane: During summer months Croatia Airlines usually has some weekly direct flights between Dubrovnik and Split. If you catch one of the these flights, the travel time is only about 30 minutes from airport to airport. Alternatively, it is possible to fly Dubrovnik – Zagreb – Split, which is a bit of a detour and not always recommendable from a time perspective.

By train: there is NO train from Dubrovnik to Split.

By ferry: during summer months Jadrolinija usually runs a coastal route betwee Dubrovnik, Korcula, Hvar and Split. The ferry usually runs twice a week. Travel time by ferry is about 9 hours but it is a beautiful trip, so if you have the time you should for sure consider this option.
